Gingerbread lattes ANY time of the year

Ever have one of those, “Why didn’t think of that?” moments? Here’s one for you: If you like your coffee iced (or even just a little less-than scalding), make yourself some coffee ice cubes! Simply brew a pot of your favorite drink, pour into ice cube trays and plop a few into your morning cup. You’ll get the temperature you enjoy without the watered down taste you’d get from regular cubes. (Guess what? It works with chai and cocoa too.)

Once you’ve got your cubes on hand, it’s time to enjoy your favorite beverage. But if you’re feeling blue that those seasonal drinks you love so much disappear as soon as the holiday passes, have not fear. You can make it yourself!

Make at Home Gingerbread Latte
Adapted from this recipe

  • 2 fluid ounces espresso coffee
  • 2 tablespoons gingerbread flavored syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk, steamed
  • 1/8 cup whipped cream
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla chai powder (adds a yummy goodness!)

Combine coffee and syrup. Add steamed milk and top with whipped cream and spices. Toss in a homemade ice cube or two to achieve perfect balance. Enjoy!
