For every season there is a coffee beverage. I always hear people getting so excited when the seasonal drinks come to their local coffee chain because they wait all year for that one particular taste. Summer brings the frosty, icy drinks. Winter brings all things peppermint. And fall? Fall brings the return of the pumpkin spice latte.
I’m not really a coffee drinker, but I’ve had this one and I’ll admit, it’s pretty tasty.
It’s also about four dollars a cup and loaded with sugar. Not the best thing for you budget or you health.
But! It IS yummy, so why not make it at home? It’s cheaper, plus you can control the ingredients. Win!
- Brew a cup of your favorite coffee. Set aside.
- Stir together 1/2 cup milk, 2 tbs of pumpkin puree, 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice, 1 tsp cinnamon/nutmeg/ginger (your choice!) and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract. Pop it in the microwave to warm.
- Add coffee, stir. DONE.
You can of course top it with whipped cream and more spices, if you’re so inclined. I won’t tell anyone.
